Introduction
Introduction of Permit to Work Receiver
The Permit to Work (PTW) Receiver is a competent and authorized person responsible for accepting, understanding, and complying with the conditions of a Permit to Work before carrying out any high-risk activity. The receiver ensures that all specified safety precautions, controls, and isolation measures are in place and fully understood by the work team. They confirm that the work scope is clear, hazards have been identified, and necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and resources are available before work begins. Throughout the task, the Permit Receiver maintains communication with the Permit Issuer, ensures strict adherence to permit conditions, and stops work if unsafe conditions arise. Upon completion or suspension of work, the receiver ensures the area is left in a safe condition and formally returns or closes the permit. The Permit to Work Receiver plays a critical role in preventing accidents and ensuring safe execution of hazardous work such as confined space entry, hot work, electrical isolation, and maintenance activities.
